Set up your Sorted profile, add your business details, and send your first invoice in under 5 minutes.
Getting Started
This guide walks you through everything you need to do before sending your first invoice.
Step 1 — Download the app
Download Sorted from the App Store. Requires iOS 16 or later.
Step 2 — Create your account
- Open Sorted and tap Get Started
- Sign in with email and password or Sign in with Google
- Verify your email address if signing up with email
- Optionally enable Face ID for quick access (you can change this later in Settings → Security)
Step 3 — Set up your business profile
Go to Settings → Business Details and fill in:

| Logo | Upload from Photos (PNG or JPG — square works best, minimum 500×500px) |
These details auto-fill every document you create.
Sorted branding
By default, a small "Sorted" watermark appears on your generated PDFs. Pro subscribers can remove this via the Remove Sorted Branding toggle in Business Details.
Step 4 — Add your bank details
Go to Settings → Payment Details and enter:

| Account number | Your 8-digit account number |
| Sort code | Auto-formatted as XX-XX-XX |
These details are included in your WhatsApp messages when you send invoices, so your customers know where to pay.
VAT configuration
In the same screen, configure your tax settings:
- VAT Registered toggle — when on, new estimates, invoices, and instruction notices default to VAT on
- Tax Rate (%) — defaults to 20%, but you can change it (e.g. 5% for reduced rate)
Step 5 — Send your first invoice
- Tap the + button on the Invoices tab
- Tap the microphone icon
- Say something like: "Invoice for Dave, 15 Oak Lane, fitted a new combi boiler, two thousand four hundred pounds"
- Sorted transcribes your voice and parses the details (client name, address, description, price)
- Review the invoice — edit anything that needs tweaking
- Tap Share to send via WhatsApp, email, or any share option
That's it. You're sorted.
Troubleshooting
The microphone button isn't working Go to your iPhone's Settings → Sorted → Microphone and make sure permission is granted.
My logo looks blurry on the PDF Use a PNG with at least 500×500px resolution. Square images work best.
I made a mistake on an invoice Invoices can be edited at any time. Open the invoice and make your changes — the PDF will regenerate when you share it again.
I've hit the free limit Free users get 5 invoices and 5 estimates per month. Upgrade to Pro in Settings → Subscription for unlimited documents, or refer a friend for free Pro time.
